Biosolve
We are the sole Scottish agents for the unique product.

Biosolve is a water-based, biodegradable product used in the clean up of hydrocarbons. By emulsifying and encapsulating the hydrocarbons Biosolve causes them to become non-flammable and more readily biodegradable. This mode of action means there are a number of different applications - bioremediation, spill response, tank cleaning and degassing and vapour suppression.
Bioremediation:
Where Biosolve is used to remediate contaminated soils the emulsification process increases hydrocarbon desorption from the soil particles. The long-chain hydrocarbons are separated and encapsulated in water which results in an accelerated biodegradation process. Biosolve can also be used in conjunction with other bioremediation products, e.g. nutrients and bacteria, this can further increase the effectiveness of the treatment whilst reducing the treatment time.
Spill Response:
Biosolve can be applied in the event of a hydrocarbon spill. The emulsification and encapsulation action of the Biosolve reduces the ignition danger from the spill and enhances biodegradation of the residue.
Tank Cleaning and Degassing:
For use in tank cleaning Biosolve is added to the tank and then circulated, thereby liquefying the sludge. The resulting fluid can then be moved into holding tanks where the Biosolve will cause it to separate into oil, water and solids. When used in tank cleaning Biosolve has also been found to eliminate VOCs. The surfactants in Biosolve penetrate rust and scale ensuring encapsulation of all hydrocarbon on the interior tank surface. This process allows recovery of a saleable product - the oil - and reduces disposal costs.
Vapour Suppression:
Biosolve is able to suppress or eliminate Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). By encapsulating the source of the vapour and keeping it out of the air the Biosolve removes the danger of the vapours igniting. The Biosolve is applied in diluted form.
